Paint the Foothills

Description: Back by popular demand - the two-day Paint the Foothills plein air painting competition! Explore the changing fall landscape and celebrate art and nature and join us Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26, 2026 at the Leighton Art Centre just outside of Calgary, Alberta. Participation is free, but pre-registration and a valid LAC membership is required.

Audience: All skill/experience levels are welcome!

Registration Cost: This is a free event, but we do ask that you pre-register. Valid LAC membership is required to participate.

Please bring your own:

• Painting supplies (easel, paints, brushes, canvas, water, etc.)
• Sunscreen/hat/appropriate clothing for the weather
• Lunch and water

Parking and Accessibility: Free parking is available at the Leighton Art Centre. The site includes mowed pathways; some areas may be uneven.

Rain-Out Policy: Dress for the weather - we will continue on rain or shine!

REGISTRATION OPENS AUG 10 @ 10 AM. VALID LAC MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED TO REGISTER.
